About us

Since its March 2000 debut, ibirthing.com receives over 1,000,000 clicks. iBirthing.com offers a unique integration of prepared childbirth education classes and the World Wide Web. In addition, there are five distinct channels on the site, each devoted to one of CBIB’s core content areas—childbirth classes, coaching, infant feeding, medical tests, and bed rest during pregnancy.

  Prepared Childbirth Education Program
iBirthing.com is originally built from a hospital program, Congratulations . . . a twelve hour prepared childbirth education class that focuses on seven core areas; the ninth month, labor, birth, coaching, medications and anesthesia, exercise, and infant nutrition and special circumstances . . . that include; high-risk pregnancies, medical testing, and cord blood storage. Congratulations offers parents-to-be a well-grounded, honest, and simplified approach to childbirth education material. This simplified approach still allows for a depth of information and careful preparation for parent education. Professional nurses interested in teaching childbirth education are encouraged to apply for affiliation.

What method of childbirth is promoted?
Often asked what method of childbirth is taught at iBirthing.com. The answer would be ibirthing.com informs, demystifies, and inspires parents-to-be updates in the field of obstetrics from a professional nurse in the field of maternal/newborn nursing. We think birth is an event not a method. Women and their families need to prepare for this life changing event just as they would for any other life event. Think of a time table in your life: you will remember about a specific date that is meaningful to you that came before or after an event (marriage, birthday, celebration, or tragedy). The information you receive at iBirthing.com is from a first hand source (Labor & Delivery nurses). It is accurate, not some ones interpretation or myth of what goes on inside the birth unit.
