Questions for your doctor
     
Regardless if you're on bed rest for premature labor, PCD—premature cervical dilation, PROM—premature rupture of membranes, multiples, hypertension, diabetes, or vaginal bleeding you may have so many questions that you need answered. Here are some helpful questions to ask.  
 
 
 

How long will I be on bed rest?

How much can I move around?

Can I get up to use the bathroom?

Can I shower or bath?

What position should I lie in?

Can I sit up?

Am I able to do any house keeping—which ones?

Is sex an option—how much coupleness is safe?

How much walking is reasonable?

Can I drive?

Can I work at home—while lying down?

Can I lift or push anything?

How often is it safe to stand?

What about my other children—what can/can't do?

Are there any exercises I can do while on bed rest?

Would you recommend a physical therapist?

What about tocolytics—a medication that may reduce preterm contractions, what do I need to know?

Will I be receiving steroid?
